KENTISH ASSOCIATION.
PAST PRESIDENT FAREWELLED
' The monthly social of the Association of Men of Kent and Kentish Men was held at their clubrooms, Thompson's Buildings, the president, Mr. J. W. Jenks. presiding. The hostesses for the evening were Mrs. Jenks and Mrs. K. J. Fraser. Several new members were welcomed. Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Robbins presented an enjoyable programme, those taking part being Mrs. Xeal. Mrs. Kersev. Mrs. F. Webster. Miss Beaumont. Mr. .T. Gibson, Mr. S. Duncan. Mr. .T. M. Wells, Mr. D. Stark and Mr. .T. H. Bond. The accompanist was Mrs. E. W. Robbins. Opportunity was taken to farewell Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Lane and familv, who are shortly leaving for Wellington. Mr. Jenks paid tribute to the splendid service rendered the association by Mr. Lane, who had just completed two years as president, in which position he was ably assisted by Mrs. Lane, and presented them with a silver vase, inscribed with the crest of the association, as a memento. Mr. Jack Robinson, a member whose marriage has just taken place, was presented by Mr. Lane, on behalf of the members, with a gift. After supper dancing took place, a Monte Carlo dance being Avon by Mr. and Mrs. Jenks. The music, was supplied by an orchestra composed of three of the club members, Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Goodwright and Mr. Goodwright, jun., of Waiuku.
