runs on the right flank, timlug his centres to a nicety, and A. Broun at centre was always to the fore, ready to snap up an opportunity. Xeal on the left wing would do well to centre earlier, otherwise his game was quite sound. In the Y.iI.C.A. side the forwards tried to do too much individually. Brown was the worst offender iu this respect, at times coming right across to the opposite side of the Held only to leave au opening for the opposition. Bright, Beere and Andrews were the pick of the line. In the halves Westwood was the most prominent, Harding and Dalley being frequently caught out of position. The fullbacks had a strenuous time with Dowling claiming the honours. Campbell in goal "was inclined to be too readily drawn from his position, thus allowing the attacking forwards easier access to the net. ST. LUKE'S TOO STRONG. Mount Eden were* unfortunate in being unable to field a full team, not that this is an excuse for their defeat, but it certainly weakened their chances of putting up a stubborn defence against, the more balanced St. Luke's team. They sadly lacked cohesion, and relied too much on "hit and run" tactics which proved futile on the day. St. Luke's played with confidence, passing the ball about In great style once they overcame the shock tactics which gave Mount Eden their first goal in the first few minutes of the game. For the winners, F. Clark. Robertson. Corin and Carroll were outstanding, whilst Bowden, Olliver, Bushell and .T. Horspool deserve mention for Mount Eden. AUSTRALIAN TOUR. Owing to business reasons, H. Jones, one of the Auckland nominees for the Australian tour, has been forced to withdraw his nomination. Picked to go with the last New Zealand team to Australia, this player had to forego the trip owing to an accident which happened a few days before the sailing date. t GRADE GAMES. SECOND GRADE.
