ANARCHIST PERIL.
Sanguinary Street Fighting in Catalonia. FRENCH BORDER TOWN TAKEN. (Received 11.30 a.m.) LOXDOX, May 7. Dispatches from Perpignan, France, state that anarchists are again dangerous in Catalonia. They have sent an ultimatum to the Government demanding dissolution of the shock troops within 24 hours. According to an anarchist broadcast, 400 people were killed and 100 wounded in street fighting at Barcelona. Workers were urged not to demonstrate publicly, as sufficient blood had flowed. The Basque command ordered mobilisation of all men between 20 and 45 to assist in building fortifications. Ceruere anarchists, aided by militia land the garrison of San Fernando fortress, seized Figueras, near the French frontier. They have also taken over the functions of the municipal governn.ent in 'lerona. It is reported that the secretary of the Catalan Confederation of Workers, Senor Seze, who was a member or the newly-appointed Cabinet, was fatally shot. The Perpignan correspondent of the "Daily Telegraph" states that Senor Ascasso. chief of the Aragon anarchists, has also been assassinated.
REFUGEES IN FRANCE. TWO SHIPMENTS LANDED. (Received 12 noon.) PARIS, May 7. Refugees from 8i1ba0—2273 children and 210 old people—were disembarked at La Pallice from the Habana. The steam yacht Goizekoizarra arrived at Pauillac with 31!) refugees, including 1 o.'i children. The insurgent authorities deny having left floating mines to imperil the safety of refugee vessels.
