LEAGUE OF MOTHERS.
MANGERE EAST
The Mangere East branch of the Mothers' Union, was held recently, Mrs. McCalluiri presiding. Afternoon tea was served by the. hostesses, Mesdames Pheasant and .Lovell, after which Mrs. Turner gave an address, her subject being "Some of Auckland's Notable Women." At the close of the meeting the speaker was the recipient" of a beautiful bouquet. * — : > REMUERA No 2. TThe monthly meeting of the Remuera No. 2 branch was held in St,. Luke's Hall, Mrs. W. R. Cashmore presiding. Mrs. Babbington, welfare worker among the Maoris, gave an address on the Maori standard of to-day. She explained the difficulties that'have yet to be overcome by conditiona that prevailed even before the Rev. Samuel Marsden cpinmenced his great work. MANUREWA. The Manure wa branch of the League of Mothers held its first meeting of the year recently in the Town Hall, Mrs. A. C. A. Sexton presiding. Mrs. Dyson, of Remuera, gave an address on the "Endowment of Motherhood." A competition of old-time photographs caused great amusement. Afternoon tea was served by the officers. STAFF DANCE. The Australian Glass Manufacturers' Social and Sports Club held its second annual ball and prize-giving at St. Mary's Hall, Ellerslie, this week. About three hundred were present, amongst whom were: Mesdames Kerns, Elliot, Leask, Swinnerton, Barnett, Avery, E. PacneltypArnold, W. Bauer, B. Harris, Welch, B. Wright, Cocks, Sigley, Bishop, E.
