Decided annually in England by a jury appointed by the Royal Institute . of British Architects, the 1936 gold medal of the New Zealand Institute of B. Architects hae been awarded to Mr. Ken'&feth W. Aimer, F.N.Z.1.A., A.R.1.8.A., J of Auckland, for his design of Marino .1 Gardens, a,- Mount' Eden apartment ' '■buildinT. Mr. Aimer executed more res cently the plans for the city transport . termimra. on the old railway station site. He.«h»red in a past award for the Auckland War Memorial Museum, designed lin partnership with Mr. H. C. Grierson and Mr. M. K. Draffln. Completed at the end of 1035, Marino j Gardens is a two-storeyed block of 18 i flata at the junction of Mount Eden and - Esplanade Roads. The jury is reported . to have been unanimous in placing it > first among the entries submitted. Five . | out of eight previous annual awards 11 have been received by Auckland architect*.
