CYCLING.
WITH THE AMATEURS. MANUKAU CLUB MEMBERS. Very little success was achieved by thoee members who participated at the Easter holiday carnivals at Whatawhata and at Ngahinepouri. The majority of the members have already commenced to concentrate on their preparation for the road season which will start next Saturday week. t Members who are recruiting new riders are asked to enrol them before the liret road event if possible, to avoid the usual last moment confusion respecting the handicaps at the post. Unless stated otherwise all junior road races will start punctually at 2 p.m., and the eemor events at 2.30 p.m. A feature of the racing this season will be the number of cups for competition. Seven in all will be awarded. The first senior race carries the Victim's Cup, while the last cup to be competed for will be the Cotter Cup, which wae first raced for in 19-26. Jack Wade was married on Easter Saturday at Wanganui. Jack, is one of the early members of the club, which he joined in 1926. He intends to seek permission to race on the road during ihis season. It was in 1927 he won the 50mile title in weather similar to that prevailing in Auckland during Easter.
