Dr. and Mrs. J. D. Mercer, of Wellington, are at tlie Grand Hotel. The Hon. F. E. Lark, M.L.C, will leave to-morrow evening by the Limited for Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Lowry, of Hawke's Bay, are visiting Auckland and are at the Grand Hotelf Sir James Steel Maitland, of Havelock North, is a visitor to Auckland. He is at the Station Hotel. The Hon. R. Mc-Callum, M.L.C., was an arrival at Hamilton to-day by the Limited from Wellington. Ihe Hon. H. G. R. Mason, Minister of Justice and Attorney-General, will leave on Monday night by train for Wellington. Mr. G. Alma Baker, of Batu Gajali, Malay States, a regular visitor to the Dominion for the big game fishins season, is at the Station Hotel. Sir Joseph and Lady Smith left Auckland this afternoon by the express for \\ ellingtoru from where they will leave shortly on a visit to England. The Hon. W. W. Snodgrass, M.L.C., airixed at Auckland this morning by the express from Wellington and will leave to-morrow evening by the Limited on his return. Messrs. A. S. Richards. A. G. Osborne, K. 1 etrie and W. J. Lyon, M.P.s. left \ostfMday for Wellington to attend the annual Easter conference of the New Zealand Labour party. Sir James Grose, general manager of tne National Bank of New Zealand, lias been appointed a member of the ti ustee directorate of the New Zealand Insurance Company, Limited. I Colonel J. E. Duigan will leave Auckland to-morrow evening by the Limited J for Wellington to take up iiis new position as General Officer commanding the New Zealand Military Forces in Wellington. Mr. F. W. Schramm, M.P. for Auckland East, left last night by the Limited for Wellington en route" for London, where he will act as one of the Government representatives at the Coronation. He will first attend the Easter conference of the Labour party in Wellington. Mr. G. T. Dawson, manager for New Zealand of the Liverpool and London and Globe Insurance Company, Limited, will leave for Australia on April 15 to take over the management for Australia of the Guardian Assurance Company, Limited, with headquarters at Melbourne. Mr. T. P. Fotheringham, inspector in charge of the New Zealand division of the Union Bank of Australia, will ieave for London on April 7, at the invitation of the board of directors. He' will be absent about six mouths, and his place will be taken by Mr. E. T. Porter, the Wellington manager. & Count I. Von Ellbrecht, of New York, has returned to Auckland after a combined business and pleasure tour of New Zealand. Possessor of a Danish title over 200 years old, the visitor has been for the past 15 years the foreign representative of the Corn Products Refining Company, Limited, New York. He was accompanied by his mother, Countess Holmblad, to Australia before proceeding to Auckland alone.
