WEATHER FORECAST.
FOR CITY AND PROVINCE. The Government Meteorologist issued to the " Auckland Star " this afternoon the following special weather forecast for the Auckland Province to as far south as Tauranga, Kawhia and Hamilton:— Moderate to strong north-easterly winds, in places reaching gale force. Weather dull and misty, general rain probable, with many heavy falls. Temperatures warm. Seas rough on the east coast and moderate on the west coast, but with a heavy swell. The tropical cyclone has moved very slowly and is filling up. The centre is still to t:-2 north-west of Cape Maria Van Dieman. A rather deep westerly depression is located over the south-west Tasman Sea, but pressure has risen considerably to the east of the Dominion. FOR THE DOMINION. For 24 hours from 9 a.m. this day:— The indications are for strong north-easterly winds to gale. Expect dull and warm weather, with . much mist and fog in parts. Rain probable, heavy in places. Barometer little movement. Seas rough. HAURAKI GULF CONDITIONS. The following report of weather conditions in the Hauraki Gulf was received from Tiritiri Island at noon to-day:— Wind, north-east, strong to gale; sea, rough; weather, overcast and misty, with heavy rain squalls; visibility, poor; barometer, steady.
