MAN ON ASSAULT CHARGE

SUM FIXED AT £*50. "The man alleged to have been assaulted by the accused on Saturday night is in hospital in a critical condition, and I would ask for a remand until to-morrow," said Detective-Ser-geant Walsh when Kenneth Kerey, aged 22, a single man, was charged before Mr. \V. I?! McKean, S.M., in the Police Court this morning with assaulting James Mnitland Webb, a seaman. Mr. W. Schramm, appearing for accused., asked for bail. "In view of Webb's Gangeroue condition, I suggest that the bail be substantial," said Detective-Sergeant Walsh. The remand was granted, and bail was fixed at £250.
