PENWOMEN'S CLUB.
LITERATURE STUDY CIRCLE
The literature study circle of thft Penwomen't* Club held its tenth annual general meeting oji Tuesday evening, the convener, Mitv, A. (Jreville, presiding. The annual report was presented- by the secretary, Miss F. M. Quill, the authors studied during the past year including Keats, Rudyard Kipling, Walter de la Mare, Beverly Nicholls and Xew Zealand poets. An evening was devoted to original autumnal poems. An address on Dutch literature was given to the circle by Mrs. Hedda Dyson, and on Slavonic literature by Miss F.ileen Johnston. Mr. D'A rev Cre«swell addressed the circle on the English sonnet. A vote of thanks and appreciation was accorded the convener and secretary for their services during the past year.
The election of oflicers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: —Convener, Miss A. (Jreville; secretary, Mies F. M. Quill; committee. Miss M. Spicer, Miss Ivy Smytheman, Miss G. Kealv, Miss Martin. At the conclusion Miss Quill read mme verse and prose extracts from Francis Thompson.
