WORK FOR SAILORS.
HARBOUR LIGHTS GUILD.
The Ladies' Harlxxir Lights Guild held its annual meeting in the Flying Angel Mission rooms yesterday. The proceedings were opened with an interesting service in the Mariners' Chapel, at which Canon C. G. Pearson gave an address.
At the general meeting which followed the service, the' Rev. H. K. Vicker.v presided. and the following office-bearers were appointed:—President, Mrs. Preston Chambers; vice-presidents. Miss E. Brown and Miss M. Clark; honorary secretary and treasurer, Mrs. E. W. j. Bowden.
In her report the secretary stated thaf all the branches of the work had been carried on energetically by the guild, and that the result was very gratifying. The work of the institute was becoming widely known to seafarers in distant parts of the world. The members of the junior branch were carrying out successfully their good work in helping to entertain the sailors. Appreciation of the intercession services was expressed, and thanks were given to the chaplin, tlio Rev. H. K. Vickerv, and to the Rev. P. Houghton, the Rev. J. E. Draper, and the Rev. G. V. Gerrard for their work in this connection. j ; i
