PAKURANGA HUNT.
THE ANNUAL REPORT. DECREASE IX RACE-DAY REVENUE. The report and balance-sheet to be presented to the annual meeting of the Pakuranga Hunt, to be held to-morrow in the "Auckland A. and P. Association's rooms, shows an excess of expenditure over income of .£142 19/2, after writing off the usual depreciation. The revenue from the annual race meeting at Ellerslie showed a considerable decrease, owing to the day being very wet. The Farmers" Hunt ball was a very popular function, while the Hunt ball was a financial success. The point-to-point races, which were again held at Pigeon Mount, Pakuranga, over the same course as the previous season, were a great success, although the entries were not as good as they should have been. The Hunt has to thank the farmers for their kindness in placing their farms at their disposal and for the excellent course provided. In spite of the bad scenting season sonic good sport was provided, though there were few exceptionally long runs. The hounds were out on 34 days and killed C 8 hares. and were only stopped on two days owing to bad weather. The hounds finished the season in tip-top order and were in excellent condition up till Christinas, when, unfortunately, distemper broke out and half the pack was down with it. Where it took a pn°umonic form it proved fatal, and the Hunt lout 2% couple of really good hounds. The cold, wet weather, unusual at Christmas time, added to their trouble, for thev lost Jorrocks. their best stud dog. With 15 couple of hounds and 2% couple of pups some good sport should be provided this
