SOCIAL SERVICE.
A special service designed to affirm the principle that Christians must increasingly concern themselves with social organisation, was conducted at St. Alban'e Anglican Church by the Rev. A. J. Greenwood on Sunday. Special hymns and Psalms xv. were sung during the service by a large congregation, led by an augmented choir, and two solos. "Out of the Deep" and "How Lovely Are Thy Dwellings," were rendered by Miss I. Brierlev.
In his address the Rev. A. .T. Greenwood said that the purpose of the gathering was the dedication of future activities and the co-operation with those who were pledged to right the many wrongs under which the people of thie country suffered. A false standard of national ideals arising from an artificial money-system which subordinated all human efforts to the purposes of trade, led to the obscuring of true values, and opened the gates to much social disorder.
