NAVAL HOSTS.
RECEPTION ON PRESTON,
Commander C. D. Swain of the American destroyer Preston, and Commander H. L. G. Grosekopf of the destroyer Smith and their officers, held an afternoon reception on the Preston yesterday to bid farewell to the many friends they made during their brief sojourn in Auckland. After arriving in pinnacee from the Admiralty steps .the guests were received on board the destroyer by their hosts. The decks were made comfortable by being enclosed with awnings and bunting and tea was served in the ward room where flowers decorated the tables.
