Fate of Ethiopians Possessing Firearms. SEQUEL TO BOMB OUTRAGE. (Received 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, February 23. All natives in possession of arms, following the attempt on the life of. Marshal Graziani, Viceroy of Abyssinia, have been executed. It is believed the total is 300. A further 1000 are being held for questioning. SETTLEMENT PLANS. Italian Wives for Abyssinia. WHITE POPULATION. (Received 12 noon.) LONDON, February 23. Italy is addressing herself to the settlement problem of populating Abyssinia with white stock. She has dispatched the steamer Colombo from Genoa with 1400 wives going to Abyssinia to join their husbands. FISHING INDUSTRY. New British Legislation Is Planned. REGULATION PROPOSALS. British Official Wireless. (Received 9.30 a.m.) RUGBY, February 23. A fish production and marketing scheme is included in legislation planned by the Government, in an effort to reorganise the industry, according to ■a House of Commons announcement by the Minister of Fisheries, Mr. W. S. Morrison.
This legislation will provide for establishment of a commission whose duties will be to assist in organisation of distributors; to consider and recommend to the Minister schemes for improvement of distribution of fish; to supervise the.operation of such schemes as well as of the producers' scheme; and to promote co-operation among all sections of the industry. The Government's proposals would be based on recommendations of the Sea Fish Commission. KING'S INTEREST. HUNT FOR WORK FOR BOTS. LONDON, February 18. The King has shown deep practical personal interest in the problem of finding work for those boys who had lost the chance of employment during the depression. As president of the Industrial Welfare Society, of which he was also president when he was Duke of York, he said: "I have often been approached by boys whom I have met in camps and other places, with a request that I help them find suitable jobs. "Many of these boys would prove useful in the industrial field. It would be a great help to me if I could have the names of any employers who are prepared from time to time to consider these boys."
