NEW TRIO EIJBCTED. As forecast in tlie ''Star" some weeks ajro, Messrs. K. F. Andrews, A. Rosser and X. V. Duiijjlas were at to-day's special meeting of the Auckland City Council appointed the council's representatives on the Auckland .Metropolitan Milk Council. Their selection had been decided l>y the Lal>our caucus. The only other nominations, proposed liv Mr. .1. L. Coakley, were those of the sitting rnemliers, Messrs. (!. \\. Hutchison (chairman), S. 'J'akle and H. I'. Burton. Memliers of the City Council had three votes each and the voting was: Mr. Andrews, 11 votes; Messrs. Rosser and Douglas, 1(1; Messrs. Hutchison and Burton, 4; Mr. Takle, 3. On the motion of tlie Mayor, Mr. Kmest Davis, who presided, a resolution was passed placing on record the council's high appreciation of the services rendered l>y its former representatives. The biennial election in the form of | postal hallot of the other six members, | j representing three groups of electors, is being held to-day, and all voting papers must Ih> in the bands of the returning ollicer, Mr. N. It. Chapman, by 0 p.m. '1 here are four candidates for the two seats allocated to local bodies (excluding the City Council), eight for the two seats for milk vendor*, and five for the two seats for dairymen. The nominations are: Local authorities (other than City Council). —Messrs. I. J. Cioldstine, H. F. W. Meikle (sitting members), C. M. MeCullough and ll.'l. Simson. Milk Vendors.—Messrs. J. Ilaslam, I. Massey (sitting members). H. K. Harper. A. K. Henley, \V. H. Madill, C. E. Mills, S. Kyan and R. S. Smith. Dairymen.— Messrs. J. Littlejohn, R. H. Ockleston, C. 1.. Smith, M. I*. Welsh and H. tJ. Wyman. The sitting members, Messrs. A. C. Trousdale and J. S. Montgoinerie, are not seeking re-election. Jhe first meeting of the new council will be held on Friday morning.
