TAR ABLAZE.

LITTLE DAMAGE BONE. Three machines from the central fire station turned out yesterday afternoon shortly after two o'clock when tlie alarm was given to a fire at the Auckland Gas Co. premises in Beaumont Street. A barrel of tar had boiled over and caught tire, hut before the machines arrived the flames had been smothered with sand and no assistance from the firemen was required.
