NEW WOMEN'S CLUB.
The New Women's Club held a wellattended meeting recently when members listened to a splendid addrese given by Mr. Brian Dunningham on "The Crusade for Social Justice." Briefly, the speaker sought to show that the principles of social justice were practical, and perfectly simple in essence. The older countries were inclined to cling , to old tradition*, but New Zealand had a unique opportunity to endeavour to establish a lead in an effort to eecure economic security for all. "To achieve results in this direction unity is imperative," said Mr. Dunningham. "People throughout the whole world are desirous of the same results, but differ always when it comes to method*. The eriieade for social justice is striving to unite all people of all creeds in their endeavour to secure peace and happiness for a world which asks for only that. A very ambitious aim," said Mr. Dunningham, "but amazing progress had been made to date." The speaker, who has travelled extensively abroad, spoke of the fine people of all the countries he visited, who only desire the same peace and happinese, without the continued fear of having to fight to hold it. "Social justice for all and not only any particular section can bring all out thie universal desire," concluded Mr. Dunningham. Mrs. Darlow, presiding, thanked the speaker, who was warmly applauded at the close of his address. Hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdamee Smales, Armitage, Gimson and Ward.
