STEWART ISLAND'S FUTURE. (By Tele.irnph.— Pretss Association.) INVKRCARGLLL. Sunday. "The isle of forgotten people" (the Hon. T. F. Doyle's description of Stewart Island) is now to have the light of Ministerial attention focused upon it. The Minister of Publie Works, the Hon. R. Semple. who is visiting the island, accompanied l>y the Minister of Mines, the Hon. P. C. Webb, promised deputations that a comprehensive survey of the island would be made as early as possible with the object '-f ascertaining the potential value of the island industrially, and from a tourist viewpoint. "The Government," Mr. Semple said, "is determined to explore the resources of every part of the Dominion, and Stewart Island will not be forgotten, as it appears to have been up to now."
