CAR GUTTED BY FIRE.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Friday. A small sports ear just concluding a fortnight's tour of the North Island was destroyed by lire on top of Paekakariki Hill yesterday. When changing to a lower gear tho owner, Mr. Stan Little, saw flames burst forth as a result of a backfire, the carburettor and tank both taking fire. The occupants of the car were only just able to make a hurried exit and watch its destruction.
