Captain Jr. D. Stewart, who was recently appointed second pilot at Blull. sailed from London by the Arawa. and is due in New Zealand on February 27. Before his appointment. Captain Stewart was chief officer of the Rangitiki.

Solly-Flood, England, was an arrival by'the Tamaroa, which berthed at Wellington yesterday. The visitor, who has had a distinguished career in the British Army, was in command of the 42nd Division (East Lancashire), which fought alongside the New Zealand Division in the Great War. lie is colonel of tho Prince of Wales' Volunteers (South Lancashire), formerly the •MHh Regiment, which is allied to the Hawke's Bay Regiment, in the system of alliance under the territorial system.
