Every mother slionlil know liou- to bath lier baby jirojierly. Tlie bathing should -'lake place in the warm "weather. Have everything ready before you start, the night garments and towels being laid out to warm before tlie fire. A bath on a stand is much the most convenient to use, and a low chair should be placed nearby. Put on a rubber apron, protected by piece of soft towelling to avoid the cold rubber coming in contact with the baby's skin. The hath should be filled to'a depth of tiin with warm water itt a temperature of about !IS degrees Fahrenheit, the temperature always being tested before putting tlie child in. Place the baby in the bath, supporting his head against your left arm, nn'd holding him firmly below the left armpit. Wash his face iirst, using a soft foce cloth and no soap, except for the cart;, and dry with a soft towel before washing his body. His hair need not be washed each day; about twice each week will suffice. Use a pure curd soap and soft sponge, to wash his body, <tnd do not let him stay in the water for more than five minutes at most. Kemove the child to. your lap, lying him face downwards, and dry "him quickly, paying special attention to the foldrt of the skin. Turn the baby over and dress him quickly in the warmed garments you have placed ready. Wipe his eyes gently with a piece of cotton wool dipped in n weak boracic solution, using a separate piece of cotton wool for each eye. The nostrils should also bo gently cleansed in the same manner.
