WAITEMATA. The quarterly meeting of the Waitemata provincial executive was held in the Farmers' Trading Company's board room on February r>, when .'>() delegates, representing 20 branches, were present. A suggestion was made that it would be an elective method of attracting capital to overlook the tax on the incomes up to approximately £500 of people coming to settle in the Dominion. A visit to the school for backward children conducted by Miss e.miahair and Miss Waddinglmm <it Newton East, had been made by Mrs. Adams and Mrs. Munro, who had made extensive inquiries re the establishment of a hostel school for such children. Members were asked to avail themselves of the facilities of the division library rim by Mrs. H.iowdeu at Te Ivuiti. Arrangements were made for the executive's fifth birthday party to be held on March 11. It wan decided to invite the Auckland Federation of Women's Institutes again to join the executive in conducting a uirls' educational week. It was proposed by Mrs. Clark that invitations be scut to ..the North Auckland ami Northern Wufroa provincial executives to send girls to the educational week. The following elected: Mesdamcs Adams, Mitchell. Judson, Applchy, McOillum and Jones.
