HASTINGS STOCK SALE.
STORTFORD LODGE PRICES. (By Telegraph.—Pre>* Association.) HASTINGS, Wednesday. Last week's high level values for fat cattle were fully maintained at Stortford Lodge to-day, when a larger yarding came forward. Several pens of good quality ox beef were offered, being the best yarding made for several weeks. Heavy prime ranged from £13 to £14 2/. and mediumweight prime £11 10/ to £12 15/. Cows sold up to £10. Store cattle-were confined to a very few* entries of station-bred steers and miscellaneous sorts. Store lambs were in spialier supply, but late values were fully maintained, best forward black-face making 23/7, topping the market for the season. A large number of breeding ewes was offered, including many eound-mouth and old sorts. Brisk competition prevailed for all young entries, and' good-mouthed fat and forward wethers met a good market, reaching to 26/. The fat sheep market showed little change from last week, ewes predominating, best making to 22.'. Good-mouthed sorts, making useful breeding propositions, made 25/.
