The annual rowing regatta at Hamilton to-morrow not only claims the attention of all Auckland provincial oarsmen, but also that of rowing enthusiasts throughout the Dominion. To Aucklanders it Rives a guide of any crew's chances at the forthcoming championship gala at Akaroa. A particularly interesting programme of class events includes two eight-oar races and added interest is lent to these events by the appearance of a Wellington crew. Reports from the country clubs indicate that the crews are in first-class condition and confident of defeating the Auckland harbour crews that had such wonderful success at Tauranga regatta a month ago. line rivalry should ensure for the spectators a remarkably keen and closely-con-tested set of races.
As advertised a special train service will cater for intending visitors who should enjoy a pleasant day's sport at the river township. In addition to the rowing rare* the big gala includes Maori canoe races, contests by the Hamilton Canoe Club, novelty events both ashore and afloat, and the St. John ambulance competitions.
