DONNELLY DOES WELL
MATCH AT WELLINGTON. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON", Friday. A brilliant century by Martin Donnelly (aged 18) wa« the outstanding feature of Wellington's batting to-day against Nelson. Donnelly completely mastered the bowling, making 141, including 19 fours and one six before the Taranaki colt ■became the fifth Wellington batsman to go lbw. At his dismissal the luncheon adjournment was taken, Wellington's
total being 362 for seven. The innings was then declared closed (Donnelly, lbw, b Irvine, 141; Crawford, c Vass, i> McGirr, 35; Wilson, c Fowler, b Ralfe, 5; Tindill, 35 not out; extras 11).
Bowling: Irvine two for 78, Glover nona for 29, Vass none for 73, McGirr one for 50, Du Feu one for 48, Mcllwraith one for 34, Ralfe two for 39.
Nelson had made 153 in the first innings.
