Soccer Player Struck Blind On the Field. BALL CAUBEB CONCUBBION. (Received 2.30 pjn.) LOXDON, January 1. Alex. Finney, the Bolton Wanderers' left back, was the victim of one of the strangest accidents ever to happen on the Soccer field. Playing against Arsenal, he attempted to bead a heavy ball which landed on the back of his head. He continued playing for ten minutes, after which time he went blind in the left eye. A doctor diagnosed the trouble as concussion and temporary blindness. The "Daily Mail" medical authoritv suggests that a possible cause is haemorrhage of the base of the skulL Finney may be suffering in a similar way to boxers who become "punchdrunk."
