NEW WOMEN'S CLUB.

The New Women's C'lub closed its activities for the year with an enjoyable social afternoon. Mrs. Harlow, who presided, was the recipient of a bea.utiful bouquet and shoulder spray, as a token of congratulation on her recent election to the Birkenhead Borough Council. Competitions and a few impromptu words from all the ladies present were enjoyed, and a realistic Maori haka was contributed by Mrs. Forrest. Hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames Abbott, MaeQueen, Lewis and Hurley.
