MEDIEVAL PLAY.
AT.T, SAINTS' PERFORMANCE.
One of the early forms of drama, a morality play, "Everyman," was presented as an act of worship and a preparation for Christmas by communicant members of All Saints' Anglican Church, Ponsonby, in the parish hall last night. The large audience gave close attention to every scene of the play, which was enacted with a sincerity that could not fail to be appreciated. Those present realised that the play was a difficult one to present, and therefore they considered that the performance of the cast was. highly meritorious. The story of the play tells how Death visits Man "early in his life and warns him. Man asks for time. Death tells him to go and appeal to his worldy powers, of which only his good deeds go with him to the grave. The moral, which is preached often enough from the pulpit, is one that is given added force by pictorial representation, and last night the members of the cast gave it deep force.
