MANUREWA TOWN BOARD.

The fortnightly meeting of the board was held last night, Mr. W- 1. Cox in the chair.

Road Speed Signs.—Details of the newroad signs relating to the speed limits were received. It was decided that the 30 m.pJi. signs be removed further towards the northern and southern boun-

R- Maxwell, the board's solicitor, and the town clerk, Messrs. Fleming and Kay, were instructed to take steps to have Manurewa created a borough. R S.A.—A request from the local branch of the R.S.A. for the use of the Town Hall for the annual Christmas tree and children's treat at a reduced rate was agreed to. ! Auckland Centenary—A communication was received from the Auckland Centennial Association appointing Mr. W. T. Cox a member. Mr. Cox, being unable to compy. the board appointed Mr. H. R.'Maxwell. Holiday Pay, STo. 5 Scheme.—lt was decided to pay out in two instalments. Drovers.—Complaints were received regarding drovers using roads other than those detailed. Members declared that permits must be obtained by drovers who had to come off the prescribed routes for the purpose of collecting or delivering stock, otherwise prosecutions would follow.
