BIGAMY CASE.
ACCOUNTANT'S OFFENCE,
COMMITTED FOR SENTENCE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday. After the hearing of a charge of bigamy against him in the Police Court to-day, Thomas Henry Munro Groves, an accountant, aged 35, pleaded guilty and was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. Evidence regarding accused's previous marriage was given. Detective-Sergeant Revel 1 said that accused was arrested at New Plymouth in November and arrived at Wellington on December 2. Accused said that particulars of the first certificate and of another under the name of Hartley Thomas Groves were correct and that he was the Hartley Thomas Groves referred to. The second marriage ceremony was carried out on January 21, 1931, at the registrar's office, Wellington. A statement was produced in which accused admitted the charge.
