STABLE AND TRACK NOTES.

A DOUBTFUL STARTER. . Although nothing definite has yet been decided, it is practically certain that Oratory will not be a runner in the Auckland Cup, and B. H. Morris has been engaged for Master Brierly in that race-. Oratory is-also engaged in the Railway Handicap, and her racing and- preparation this season liava hardly been sufficient to enable her to run out a two-mile journey. RACED AT TE RAPA. Tavern Song, who is engaged in the Waipa Plate, is a three-year-old by Hunting Song from Kinetie, and is thus a halfbrother to Adalene and Glouceeter. He contested the maiden event at the recent Waikato meeting, but failed to get in the monev, though he was prominent for a long way. Tavern Song, who is trained by J. F. Tutchen at Te Rapa, is expected to develop a smart galloper. NOT ENGAGED AT ELLERSLIE. Since resuming work a few weeks ago, Tooley Street -lias not been overtaxed, though lie bears a bright appearance and is carrying more condition than usual. It is unfortunate for his owner, H. Rama, that Tooley Street was not nominated for any. of the events at the Auckland summer meeting; still, there will be plenty of opportunities for this galloper later in the season. SHOULD SOON WIN AGAIN. Gloucester lias been galloping well at re Rapa, and the son of Acre should again lick up a stake shortly. He ran second it the recent Kotorua Hunt meeting, and it the Waikato meeting was third in the 111 ark in Handicap, six furlongs. At the •ecent Takapuna meeting Gloucester won he Spring Hack Handicap, of similar dis.ance, and is to have his next outing at ;he Waipa meeting at Te Awamutu oil Saturday. NEW ZEALAND-BRED COLT. Normandy, winner of a division of the klaiden Nursery at Warwick Farm on Saturday, is a bay colt by Gascony from Yuratum, and was bred by Mr. T. H. jowry. He is owned by Mr. E. J. Watt, or whom lie was secured at the national :ales last January by G. Price at 650gs. lis dam is by Absurd from Desert Gold, md Normandy is closely related to Gold. ■Trail, Princess Doreen, Gold Rod' and Srand Jury.
