DARK SHADOW'S PROSPECTS. LOOKING A PICTURE. (By Telegraph.—■ Special to "Star.") HAMILTON, this day. Tlie going on the course proper, 3Gft out, was in good order for galloping at Te Rapa this morning, the best efforts being those of Star Artist, Whirling and Prince Colossus. .Star Artist dashed over five furlongs in 1.5%, her first half being cut out in 52 l-ss. She did her work pleasingly. Light Comedy, over a similar distance, recorded 1.7, the first half in 53 l-ss. Rollicker negotiated six furlongs in 1.23, his first half mile in 55%s and five in 1.10. He did his work evenly and was not at toj) at any stage. Respectful, who looks improved, got to the end of half a mile in 545. Sly Fox brushed home over the last three furlongs of his work, but was not timed. Tavern Song and Gloucester slipped over three furlongs in 38s. Grand Score wag in front of Sandrift at the conclusion or a round in 2.6, the Jast six furlongs occupying 1.26. Ada!one ran three furlongs in 38 4-ss. She is bearing a healthy appearance. Joyzell shaped well while running six furlongs in 1.19 4-5, being accompanied by Full o' Scotch over the initial three furlongs in 38s. Joyzell is looking well. Prince Colossus compassed a round in 2.3%, after travelling slowly over the early part. Lornacre worked lazily over five furlongs in 1.13, the first half mile occupying 57%5. Whirling, having his first sprint since Ins operation, accompanied Singara over half a mile in 52 l-ss, cutting out the first three furlongs in 37%5. Etcetera and English Night finished on terms at the completion of a round ill 2.8. Calcutta, after schooling unimpressivly over two hurdles, hit out alone over a circuit in 2.0%. -Tosh, King Key, Tradesman, Cappy and Red Fox were restricted to strong work, Dark Shadow also being sent along at strong three-quarter pace. The last-named is looking a picture of condition and will be a force to be reckoned with on Saturday. Riding engagements include: H. Long, Lornacre, Du MauiiorJ. Winder, Xiadesman, Pirate King, Cappy.
