PALUSTRE GOES FAST.

NATAL AND MIN LU. WORK AT TAKANINI. The inside grass, with.'-the poles 10ft out, and the plough .-'tracks were la first-class order at Takanini this morning, several useful gallops being recorded. > Valamito (Stone) and Lap Up (O'Brien) were partners over six furlongs, the last five of which were traversed in 1.4, and the last three ill 40s. Both horses Worked well. Mood Tide (Bartle) and Con Fuoco (Evans) ■ were sent a mile, being together practically all the way, to complete the task in 1.42 4-5, after running the first half-mile in 51s, and the last three furlongs in 395. Flood Tide worked impressively. , Bachelor King (Walters) and Trixie (Hatwell) were not extended while running half a mile in 55 2-ss, while Gai Wind (Tucker) completed two furlongs in 295. Natal (Fearn) and Min-Lu (Evans) went pleasingly over half a imile in 49 3-ss, there being little between them at the finish. Both youngsters have yet to race, but are Staking excellent progress. Palustre (Bartle) was responsible for the best sprint of the morning, running five furlongs in 1.1 3-5, after reeling off the first two in 23 3-ss. She is in excellent condition. Highborn ' (Bartle) and Disturbed (Fearn) were together throughout half a mile in 50s, but the former was going more impressively at the end. Precise (Evans )- defeated Doric Star (Fearn) over five furlongs in 1.6, the last three furlongs taking 40 2-se. Several horses we;-e given strong work on the plough, including Parquet, Merry Bap, Ebb and Flow, Surella, Gay Talkie, Wait and See, Inquisitor, Dark Marble, Nun Nicer, Mai de Mer, Survanna and Thurwind, the last trio mentioned sprinting up the straight at the conclusion of their work.
