FRUIT IMPORT EMBARGO.
RET ALLEYS ASK REMOVAL.
A meeting of about 80 fruit retailers in Auckland last evening passed resolutions asking, the Government to remove the embargo on oranges and-Austialian fresli fruit, and the quota restrictions on banana imports. "We are grateful to the Government for stopping exploitation in our trade.'' said Mr. S. Coleman, who presided. I consider it is honestly trying to help us. but it is our duty to acquaint it •with the difficulties that are standing in the way of our livelihood and depiiv ing the public of cheap fruit."
