AURICULA.
This is a favourite flower with many people. The show varieties are mostly grown in a cold greenhouse or frame, and the alpine sorts outside in the rock garden and in the mixed flower borders. The best named sorts are increased by offsets (taken from the parent plants at almost any season), when large enough to sever, with a piece of root attached. Seeds may be sown now, in a cool greenhouse or frame. Fibrous loam should be the staple soil, with a little leaf mould, cow manure and coarse sand added. After flowering, examine the drainage, and repot if require,?. To remove a little of the surface soil and replace it with the prepare;' cmi post is frequently preferable to repotting.
