OPEN ON SATURDAYS.
THE STATE FERE OFFICE. In a reference-to the observance of the five-day week by Government Departments it was stated on Saturday that the State Fire Office would in future be clpsed on Saturday. • It was stated this morning, however, that though the Department is observing a five-day week as far as its staff is concerned the office will remain open on Saturdays with a skeleton staff. Like a number of other Departments its position is not yet clear. .
