PROBATION FOR WOMAN.

SHOPLIFTING CONVICTION. Arrested on Friday on a shoplifting charge, Grace McLeod, aged 26, appeared in the Police Court on Saturday morning and admitted stealing a variety of articles worth £1 1/4 from a Queen Street, store. She was remanded until this morning for sentence. To-day, Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M., said he was going to give her another chance and an opportunity of living her offence down. She was admitted to probation for 12 months.
