SUSTENANCE MEN.

MILK SUPPLY AND HEALTH.

PAPATOETOE RESOLUTIONS. At the monthly meeting of the Papatoetoe Welfare League a resolution was carried that the Government be requested to allow local bodies to employ sustenance men in their districts in useful work, up to the value of their sustenance pay. It was also decided to draw the attention of the Minister of Health to the need of more stringent measures being taken by inspectors of the Department in stamping out T.8.-infected cattle, the milk supply from which, it was stated, was spreading this disease in many cases. The league decided to send a letter congratulating Mr. Hutchins, of the local railway staff, on his promotion to Wellington.
