PATHETIC APPEAL TO LEAGUE OF NATIONS.

ETHIOPIA'S FATE.

Peace-Loving People on the Verge of Destruction. STILL FAITH IN GENEVA. United l'ress Association.—Copyright. (Received 12 noon.) GENEVA, October 23. Haile Silassie has sent to the LeagUe of Nations a pathetic appeal from Ras Imru, head of the Provisional Government at Gore, which states:— "A good people, victims of terrorism, cry for justice to the Almighty and to the League. We have faith that this cry will be heard. "We beseech your Majesty to renew your appeals to the League on behalf of a peaceful people, threatened with extermination by poison gas and bombs. Abyssinia has no resources and no arms, only faith in the League." The message adds: "The Abyssinian Government is still sovereign over all regions in West Abyssinia, but the aggressors are planning renewed violence to wipe out the Government and destroy a peace-loving, diligent people."
