U.S. ALIMONY "RACKET."
MILLIONAIRES' PROTECTION. NEW YORK, October 23. A wealthy inventor, Mr. Samuel Rushmore, announces his readiness to spend 100,000 dollars to help his new organisation, "Millionaires' Alimony Defiance Society," to advocate legislation for a change in the divorce laws. Mr. Ruslimore says that in five years he spent 85,000 dollars in obtaining a : divorce and finally won after a "raid on his wife's apartment. He had paid alimony in such large sums so often that he obtained a rubber stamp to sign the cheques. The organisation now has six millionaire members and 25 others in prospect.
