HUNGARIAN CARD CLUBS. ~ BUDAPEST. Rumours of illicit arrangements in some of the card clubs resulted in a police raid last week. Sixty detectives penetrated into nine suspected clubs, the directors of which were questioned. It was ascertained that some of the members received a monthly salary, and as a consequence of conditions in the clubs some of these establishments will probably be closed down. Simultaneously with the purification of the card clubs, the Home Ministry has ordered the locating of the secret roulette clubs, which are haying disastrous effects on habitual gamblers. The recent suicide of a member-of the Stock Exchange -is reported to be due to tha loss of a hundred thousand pengos in an evening at on© of these clubs..
