The audience was highly enthusiastic and eveny item met with tumultuous applause. Mr. Crooks, who will arrive in Auckland from the South Island to-morrow, ; will conclude his triumphal tour of Australia and New Zealand with three concerts in the Town Hall, commencing next Saturday night. The heavy ana continual bookings proclaim the remarkable interest displayed in the visit of this great tenor, and more than particular interest is centred in the concerts here because they constitute the farewell appearances of the tour jjrior to Mr. Crooks' return to America by tha Mariposa on Saturday week, October 17, Richard Crook 3 is the most amazingly popular singer of the present day. fiisr prominence amongst the great artists in the musical world is unquestionable, and he is now at the very zenith of hi« career.
