DOMINION COUNCIL.

TOURNAMENTS APPROVED. At a meeting of the Xew Zealand Golf Couucil held at Wellington this week, the tournament dates were approved :—Marae- . iiui Club (Xapier), annual tournament, ' October 24 to 2ti; . Asliburton Club,, annual Mid-Canterbury championships, Octbber 24: to North Otago Club (Oamaru); Labour day tournament, October 24 to 2U ; New Zea- • land' championship meeting, Ne\V Plymouth i Golf Club's links, October 22 to 31; Pictou : Club, annual handicap tournament, October , 24, 25. .and 2fi; Taihape Club, Labour Day week-end tournament, October 20 to 2(5; Hamilton Club, South Auckland champion of champions match, October 25, Labour Day tournament, October 20; Otaki Club, Labour Day tournament, October 2U; Titalii Bay Club (Wellington), open tournament, Octobed 24 to 20 ; Auckland Club, open amateur tournament, October 24 to 20. The secretary reported that the Xew Zealand Railways had agreed to issue special excursion fares to any bona-tide entrants proceeding to Xew Plymouth by rail lor the purpose of taking part in the 1030 championship tournament. The concession would also apply to players' wives and members of their family. A certificate has to be produced, signed by the secretary of the Xew Zealand Golf Association, and these certificates will be forwarded to those who have entered and are likely to be travelling by train. Xotice of motion was received from the Russley Club of its intention to advocate a reduction of the amount payable by affiliated clubs. The secretary, Mr. G. O. ; Sutton, reported that the notice of motion i had been circularised among the various clubs, and the council agreed that it would | appreciate a full expression of opinion on ; tile question, which will be .raised at the I annual meeting of the association on ! November 3. I Clubs elected members of the associa- | tion : —Waikoliu Golf Club, Te Karaka, Gis- ! borne; Wharelmnga Golf Club, Kopaki, Auckland district. A resignation was received from a small club at Te Puke, the l'ongakawa Club. A scratch score of 72 was allotted to the FeUding Golf Club and one of 00 to Waikoliu Golf Club.
