WORK AT TAKANINI.
SURELLA GOES WELL.
The middle grass at, Takanini was 009 for fast work this morning, the going beinj excellent. "VWarwick Lad and the Drolatiqne filly completed five furlongs in 1.6 4-5. I nve was just in front of Valamito at the conclusion of six furlongs in 1.19. Dutiful and Yerrapie completed five furlongß in lj 3-5, both working well. Surella, assisted by the' Acre gelding over the last two furlongs, ran six in" 1.17 1-5, the last threa taking 39 3-os. Love Parade was two lengths'in front of the Lysander gelding it the conclusion of three furlongs in 395. Gay Talkie beat Wait and See over fiyj furlongs in 1.4 4-5. The former worked well. High Quality "and Spearcourt got h the end of six furlorigs in 1.19 3-5, there being little between them at the finkl, Kaiwaka and Latharna completed five furlongs in 1.6 3-5, the former impressiij most. Palustre decisively beat Mai de Mer over half a mile in 51 1-56. Higk Sea was going better than Silver Glow at the end of three furlongs in 41s. Elanage was two lengths in front of Lord Wfllonyx at the finish of four furlongs in 50 3-as. Merry Lap and Keith Lu shaped well in a schooling bout' over two hurdles. Lap Up gave an excellent exhibition over four fences, being assisted over the first two by Benighted, who also shaped well.
