ADMIRAL BROWN.

HERO OF ARGENTINA. BUENOS AYRES. The Ministry of Marine has, asked Congress for a grant to rebuild the tomb of Admiral Brown, the Irish-American sailor who was one of the heroes of Argentina's fight for independence. The Minister asserts that the present condition of the tomb is evidence of ingratitude to the admiral. Born in 1777, Brown first served in the British Navy. Then he took a command in the Argentine Navy and showed his skill against the Spaniards. In the 1825 war with Brazil he defeated the Brazilians in several engagements. During the war of 1842-45] he blockaded Montevideo, and. fought . against Garibaldi; '. He died in 1857. •
