NEW CITY AERODROME.
CONSTRUCTION SHORTLY. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) ' CHRISTCHURCH, Monday. A decision to commence the construction of a city aerodrome at Harewood as soon as possible was made at a special meeting of the Christchurch City Council this evening. The works committee was authorised to complete arrangements with the Government on the basis of the offer of a pound for pound subsidy on the labour cost of the formation. According to a' statement made by the Mayor, Mr. J. W. Beanland, the total cost to the council will be about £30,000. In addition, i£ is estimated that the Government subsidy will be £6700.
