HELENSVILLE NEWS.
TENNIS CLUB'S OPENING. On Saturday last many members and friends attended the official opening of the Woodhill Tennis Club ,which was performed by Mr. S. Phillips, president of tho Woodhill Club, and Mr. A. E. L. Dodd, president of the Kaipara Lawn Tennis Association. A ping pong ball was successfully served over the net with a racquet five feet long and three feet in diameter by Miss Jocelyn Phillips, daughter of the president. In the evening an opening dance was held by the Woodhill Club, when many dancers attended. The Monte Carlo was won by Miss N. Grant and Mr. L. Hoist. Among those present were: Mesdames D. Cooper, G. Pearson, Peacock, L. Walters, Grant R. Pengelly, Hoist, Roulston, Mount, S. Phillips, T. Phillipps, G. Pickering, and the Misses Valerie McLeod, Laura McGarvey, Norma Smith, Betty Robertson, Joan Walters, Ethel McGarvey, Jocelyn Phillips, Gwen McLeod, Clarice Williams, Betty Bains, Phyllis Megson, Doris Becroft, Lulu Faulkner, Thehna Dwerryhouse, Marjory Grey, Audrey Beagle, Nannie Grant, Doreen Pengelly, Nancy Screaton, Jean McLeod, Mary McLeod, Marjorie McLeod, Joan Phillips, Pat Smith, Edie Hanson, Kathleen Copping, Edna Dakers, Gladys Hutchings, Iris Hutchings, Kathleen Phillips, Beth Haven, Margaret Phillips, Muriel Phillips, Beverly Phillips, Muriel Smith, G. Copping, E. Allans, B. Allans, Maida Screaton, Kathleen McLeod.
