LYCEUM CLUB.

MUSIC CIRCLE MEETS,

A delightful .programme of modern and old-time music, arranged by Mrs. Harold Owcrs (convener), was presented at an open evening held by the musical circle of the Lyceum Club last night. The lounge, which was decorated with spring flowers, was well filled by members and friends.

In the absence of the president, Lady Wilson, Miss Ellen Melville, vice-presi-dent, presided. The programme opened' with two songs by Mrs. Humphrey Gordon, "The Bitterness of Love" (James Dunne), and "Five Eyes" (Armstrong Gibbs). Mrs. Gordon later sang "Love's Old Sweet Song" (Molloy), and "No, Sir" (Wakefield). Following were two songs by Miss Winifred Hill, "Silver" (Gibbs), and "Night" (Mallinson). Two oldfashioned songs, "Robin Adair" and "Scenes That Are Brightest," were later given by Miss Hill. Other items included Old English folk songs, by Mr. Frank Sutherland, who also sang "I Am Fate" (Hamblin); an Oriental dance and a polka by Miss Joyce Wright; violin solos by Miss Ida Lockwood and items by an instrumental trio comprising Miss Betty Fenton ('cello), Miss Ida Lockwood (violin), and Mr. Alan Pow (piano). Supper was served at the conclusion of the programme.
