ADDED WATER IN MILK.

TWO OTAHUHU CONVICTIONS. In the Police Court at Otahuhu yesterday, before Mr. W. K. McKean, S.M., Edward Cunnold was charged with supplying milk that was deficient in fat, and further with supplying milk containing 14 per cent of added water. It was stated that on August 5 a sample of milk was taken from a can which defendant was sending to the Tamaki Dairy Company and it was found to be deficient in fat besides containing 14 per cent of added water. Mr. Elworth, who appeared for defendant, stated it was the Tirst complaint his client had ever received. On the first charge Cunnold was fined 20/, plus costs 18/, and on the second £2, plus £1 1/ costs. Robert Hicks was charged with selling milk containing 9 per cent of added water. He pleaded guilty and was fined £3, plus £1 1/0 costs.
